Hey Love

Today is Friday, thank god, but I am having a hard time enjoying it.  I try not be a sentimental romantic and I promise I will not post shit like this all the time but sometimes you gotta be a sappy dousche.  Here are numerous examples of that throughout cinema history.

Now for me, being romantic is hard.  I would rather make fun of Tim Tebow, kill an assistant or tell you why Friday the 13th X deserves to be in the dumpster of pop culture history.  But you can find all that in prior posts.

Today, we talk about someone important.  SPOILER ALTER:  This shit is about toget super sweet.  This post is not recommended for guys or people who enjoy mocking me.  Diabetics may want to avoid this post.  Please keep in mind that I am totally bad ass and not a pussy.  As a matter of fact, if you are a guy just watch this and come back tomorrow.

Consider the links a minor mixtape of love.  A digital “High Fidelity” to make it more bearable for the guys.  Enjoy.

If you are reading this then you probably know me and you probably know that I have a girlfriend.  Her name is Meg and she is the reason I am doing this blog.  She helped me set it up, showed me how to post and is wonderfully supportive.

Ever since I started it, every morning she asks me what I am posting.  Then, more specifically, she asks when I am posting about her.  Well today is that day.

Meg and I met on the phone.  She worked for a manager and our bosses shared a client.  On the phone she was funny, aggressive and had an a great voice.  We talked and texted and IM’d and did all that shit.  After all that time, it was finally time for us to meet.

When we met our first date was kind of a disaster.  It was a little like this “He Man” clip.

But we saw each other the next night and agreed that we were moving too fast and that we would just chill out.  That did not happen and we have been together ever since.

Now it’s been almost a year and I don’t know what I would do without her.  She keeps me sane.  She laughs at my jokes and has more patience with me than anyone ever has or likely ever will again.

She got me to look at my future and believe in things that I was beginning to think I would never get to have.

My friends and family and everyone else we meet are impressed by her and tell her how good she is for me.

We have made numerous people nauseous with our cuteness together, including ourselves.

What is weird is that none of this bothers me.  Normally I would freak and run away, but I’ve never felt less like running away in my entire life.

Anyway, in the last year she has quit her job, went and worked for a casting office that treated her well and now has a new full time job that treats her even better. She says she couldn’t have done all these things without me but I tell her that she just wouldn’t have had as much FUN doing these things without me.

I can’t tell you how happy and proud I am of her.

Oh and she is beautiful and she has the red-est hair in human history.

Now I know what you’re thinking, I should have saved a post like this for Valentines day or our anniversary because it would have made my life easier.  Okay, maybe I was just thinking that.  But if you feel this way about someone and you can do something to make them smile on a bad day, then it just can’t wait.

So smile Meg.

Love,

Nat
